Torteval Scarecrow Festival 2010

Guernsey have unleashed yet another quirky event for visitors this weekend, in the form of Torteval Scarecrow Festival 2010.

Started in 2004 by residents of the beautiful Torteval Parish in the south-west of Guernsey, it’s origins evolved after residents decided to find a novel way of showcasing their creative side.

Since then, visitors flock to Torteval during one weekend of August to check out the motley crew of scarecrows lining the lanes of the parish. All residents of Torteval get involved and are keen to out-do each other with their creations of hay.

Starting at the local church, visitors follow the Scarecrow trail and log their favourites along the way before making a vote for their favourite scarecrow at the end of the trail.

Here’s a link to our set of Toterval Scarecrow Festival 2010. Which is your favourite?
