Guernsey Tennerfest 2010
TennerFest 2010
Calling all foodies – your chance to dine out in style in the Channel Islands annual dining out extravaganza: Tennerfest 2010. The Guernsey foodie festival of the year starts this weekend on Friday 1st October 2010 until Sunday 14th November 2010.
Dining out in Guernsey is big news – and every year during October, Guernsey looks forward to six weeks of great meals at special fixed prices. Foodies and visitors from the UK also flock to Guernsey to tickle their tastebuds and explore the island all in one trip.
Historically, as the name implies, the festival began with £10 menus, and while it is still possible to eat for a tenner at many restaurants, there are also the £12.50, £15.00 and £17.50 options to give a wide and exciting selection of menus.
Most will include locally caught delicacies including lobster, scallops and sea bass. As well as the locally reared meadow Court Beef and the traditional local beanjar!
The Tennerfest is also a great spur to our local chefs who go all out to put on the finest display of local and continental cuisine to tickle your taste buds without breaking the bank.
It’s an island wide festival which offers a diverse array of eateries including cafes, bistros, gastro pubs traditional hotel restaurants and seafood restaurants. It also showcases food from all over the world as the island has a choice of top Indian, Italian and Chinese restaurants too.
The festival which has been running since 1998 provides the perfect reason to Visit Guernsey and has grown in popularity each year. It is an opportunity to try lots of different restaurants that may normally be considered ‘out of price range’, do try a variety of quirky restaurants that you may not think of going to normally you are likely to be amazed.
